Kim Dong-jun of ZE:A: A K-Bazzi Story of Parents and Loyalty

On Life, Destiny, and Parental Blessings

– A Brief Reflection Before Exploring Kim Dong-jun’s K-Bazzi

As we go through life,
we often find that people fall into two categories:
those who deeply feel the blessings of their parents—
and those who, for various reasons, do not.

Even when parents raise their children with great care and love,
there are times when that grace is not fully understood.
On the other hand,
some may not have received much in terms of material support,
yet they serve their parents with unwavering filial devotion.

When we speak of a “good person,”
perhaps we are referring to someone who does not lash out at their parents—
but rather, treats them with quiet sincerity
rooted in deep inner respect.

I, too, am a father of two children.
And maybe because of that,
I sometimes find myself asking:

“Why was I born on that specific day, at that exact time?”

It’s not uncommon for babies to arrive earlier or later
than the due date given by the obstetrician.
Just when you think you understand the reason,
you realize you don’t.
The exact moment of birth is one of life’s greatest mysteries.

Perhaps this is why some parents,
in an attempt to gain some control over that uncertainty,
turn to renowned spiritual practitioners
to choose a specific date for a C-section birth.

But still—
Can we truly say that a child born on such a date
is the “child the parents hoped for”?

If that logic held true,
then surely the wealthy would have already invented a secret method
to calculate the perfect moment to give birth to exceptional children.

But reality isn’t that simple.

Even conceiving a child is not something entirely within our control.
And childbirth often comes suddenly,
in ways that defy our planning and expectations.

In the end,
we all know—
pregnancy and birth are not things we command,
but experiences that remind us of life’s unpredictable nature.

Kim Dong-jun of ZE:A – Exploring Parental Blessings and Filial Devotion Through His K-Bazzi

Following our previous discussions on Im Si-wan and Park Hyung-sik,
we now turn our attention to another member of ZE:A: Kim Dong-jun.
Once again, we approach his story through the lens of “parental blessings”,
as revealed through the structure of his K-Bazzi (Korean Four Pillars of Destiny).

All three of these individuals—
Im Si-wan, Park Hyung-sik, and Kim Dong-jun—
have reached heights that most ordinary people can hardly imagine.

There’s a saying that goes:

“Celebrities aren’t people you need to worry about.”

Even if their careers hit a few bumps,
they often have the talent, reputation, and resilience
to navigate life quite well on their own.

But our purpose here is a little different.

We’re not simply admiring their success.
We want to ask deeper questions—
Why them?
And how did they step off the common path and into such exceptional lives?

By examining their K-Bazzi charts,
we aim to trace the patterns of their fate,
and perhaps glimpse another kind of possibility for life itself.

💠 Kim Dong-jun’s Childhood and the Road to Debut

Kim Dong-jun was born in Dongnae-gu, Busan.
From an early age, he showed natural athletic talent—
dreaming of becoming a soccer player or a gymnast.

Then, in his second year of high school,
he accompanied a friend to a local singing contest,
where he was unexpectedly cast on the spot.
That moment became a true turning point in his life.

He soon moved to Seoul,
trained as a trainee for about two years,
and in 2010, debuted as the youngest member and lead vocalist
of the 9-member boy group ZE:A (Children of Empire).

With his athlete’s DNA and innate performer’s spirit,
Kim Dong-jun’s path is certainly one of the more unique stories in the industry.

His personality is often described as lively and cheerful—
a classic “athlete-idol” type.
He is known for his meticulous self-discipline,
maintaining strict routines around diet, exercise, and daily structure.

Whether on stage or on set,
he has built a reputation for passion, perseverance, and a strong sense of responsibility.

💠 Family Ties – “A Son Full of Devotion”

No story about Kim Dong-jun would be complete without mentioning his family.
He has frequently spoken on broadcast about his relationship with his mother in particular.

According to him,
she was a very strict and exacting figure during his childhood.
He once shared,

“My mom was so scary, I cried on my way to the practice room.” 😅

That single line speaks volumes about how difficult those years must have been.
Yet now, looking back, he expresses deep gratitude, saying:

“Thanks to her, I became strong.”

Though he doesn’t often talk about his father,
he once mentioned that during his move to Seoul,
his father quietly supported him from behind the scenes—
not a man of many words, but clearly a steady, dependable presence.

More than anything,
Kim Dong-jun is someone who gets visibly emotional when talking about his family.
Whether on stage or in interviews,
he’s not afraid to shed tears when family is brought up.

He often says:

“I have to succeed so that my family can be at peace.”

That one sentence reveals just how deeply
responsibility and filial devotion are rooted in his heart.

💠 What About His Parents’ Financial Background?

There hasn’t been much public detail shared
about Kim Dong-jun’s parents’ occupations or financial situation.

However, we can piece together a few clues.

He once explained that he had to give up pursuing sports seriously
due to financial constraints.
He also started working part-time jobs in high school to support himself.
And he’s mentioned more than once:

“I had to grow up faster than most.”

His mother, in particular, is described as someone with a strong sense of discipline and
a firm belief in education and values.

As a result, even during his time as a trainee,
Kim Dong-jun balanced both physical training and personal discipline,
earning him the nickname:

“The most survival-ready youngest member.”

To sum it up—
he may not have grown up in poverty,
but he likely came from a modest, working-class background.
One thing is certain:
he was not born with a silver spoon,
but rather climbed his way up
through grit, responsibility, and self-reliance.

💠 Final Thoughts – A Heart That Shines Brighter Than Any Inherited Blessing

Taking everything into account,
it seems clear that Kim Dong-jun may not have received a great deal of material support from his parents.
Yet, what truly stands out
is the deep sense of filial devotion rooted in his heart.

In the end, isn’t “parental blessing”
not just about how much you receive—
but about how you cherish that bond,
and how you strive to give back
?

Kim Dong-jun’s life reminds us:
Even if you weren’t born with abundance,
a heart full of gratitude and devotion
can shine even brighter. 🌟

🔥 Kim Dong-jun’s Day Master and the Power of the Hidden Stems

Kim Dong-jun was born with Jeong-Hwa (丁火) as his Day Master—the central element that represents himself.
At the core of his chart, in the Month Branch (Wol-Ji / 月支) position, we find In (寅)—the Tiger, which corresponds to the Proper Seal (Jeong-In / 正印) in the Ten Gods system.

Now, this leads us to an important concept in Saju:
👉 Ji-Jang-Gan (地藏干), or the Hidden Stems.

The Hidden Stems refer to the Heavenly Stems that are stored within each Earthly Branch.
They are like the hidden energies buried under the surface.

For example, although In (寅 / Tiger) appears to be a simple Wood sign on the outside,
it actually stores three distinct Heavenly Stems within:

  • Gap-Mok (甲木 / Yang Wood)
  • Byeong-Hwa (丙火 / Yang Fire)
  • Mu-To (戊土 / Yang Earth)

In short, each Earthly Branch (Ji-Ji / 地支) is not just a “root” or “base”—
but a complex storage unit filled with various inner energies.

So rather than viewing them as static or singular,
the Earthly Branches are better understood as dynamic vaults of psychological depth
repositories of unconscious tendencies, hidden resources, and emotional patterns.

The table above summarizes the state of each Element (Oh-Haeng) and Ten Gods (Sib-Seong)
in relation to Jeong-Hwa (丁火) as the Day Master, with a focus on the Month Branch (Wol-Ji / 寅木 – In).

Here are the key points to note:

  • Both Jeong-Jae (正財, Proper Wealth) and Pyeon-Jae (偏財, Unconventional Wealth)
are in relatively weak stages within the 12 Life Stages (Sib-I Un-Seong / 十二運星)
specifically, “Jeol (絶, Extinction)” and “Tae (胎, Conception)” respectively.
  • In contrast, Jeong-In (正印, Proper Seal) and Pyeon-In (偏印, Unconventional Seal)
are in the most powerful stages—“Nok (祿, Prosperity)” and “Jae-Wang (帝旺, Imperial Power)”.

From this structure, we can clearly see that
the energy of the Seal Gods (In-Seong / 印星) is especially dominant in Kim Dong-jun’s chart.

Dong 6

In other words,
👉 qualities such as study, mental strength, responsibility, and self-discipline
are deeply rooted in his inner character.

On the other hand,
👉 the energy of Wealth Gods (Jae-Seong / 財), which represents material gain and external success,
is relatively weak.
This suggests that he tends to prioritize principles and inner stability over practical benefits.

One more important point—
This In-Mok (寅木) is located in the Month Branch (Wol-Ji / 月支),
which symbolizes one’s parents in K-Bazi.

And because this position is not only the Jeong-In (正印, Proper Seal)
but also aligned with the strongest 12 Life Stage—Jae-Wang (帝旺, Emperor’s Peak),
it clearly connects with the way Kim Dong-jun often shows himself as a deeply devoted and filial son
in interviews and on broadcast programs.

Dong 04 Kr 1

The table you’re seeing here is based on the Day Master Gyeong-Geum (庚金) of Im Si-wan and Park Hyung-sik,
and it analyzes how their Month Branch Hae-Su (亥水) functions through the lens of the 12 Life Stages (十二運星, Sib-I-Un-Seong).

🔍 One key point to note is this—
Pyeon-Jae (偏財, Indirect Wealth) is positioned in Saeng (生, Birth),
while Jeong-Jae (正財, Direct Wealth) is located in Sa (死, Death).

This structure suggests the following:

  • If their parents were self-employed or business owners,
the Pyeon-Jae (偏財) energy—being in the ‘Birth’ stage—indicates active wealth flow and fluid financial assets.
  • On the other hand, if their parents had stable salaried jobs, such as in public service or corporations,
the Jeong-Jae (正財) being in the ‘Death’ stage implies a steady but limited income structure.

💡 In this sense, this chart is not merely a tool for fortune-telling,
but can also serve as a delicate clue for inferring one’s parental background, such as their career style and financial foundation.

However, here’s something important to remember:

Even a single piece of data like this can sound convincing—
if interpreted without caution.

That’s exactly why K-Bazi (Four Pillars of Destiny) is often seen as a difficult and careful discipline
one that demands humility, context, and critical thinking.

Dong 3

In my view,
the state of the Month Branch (Wol-Ji, 月支) is not merely a reflection of one’s external circumstances at birth.
Rather, it serves as a signal—a symbolic structure representing the life conditions of the parents at the time of birth,
and the karmic bond one holds with them.

Moreover, depending on how the surrounding elements interact with this Month Branch,
the intensity and manner in which this energy manifests can differ greatly.
In other words, it’s not a static or isolated symbol—
but part of a living, breathing, organic system that moves in harmony with the whole.

Another important point is this—
when we assess the broader flow of life,
we often refer to the Decade Luck Cycle (Dae-Un, 大運),
which reveals the major direction of one’s life in ten-year intervals.

And the starting point of that cycle?
It’s always based on the Month Branch.

The fact that Dae-Un begins from this position alone
speaks volumes about how central the Month Branch is in K-Bazi (Four Pillars of Destiny).

The same goes for the concept many have heard of: Gyeok-Guk (格局)
a framework used to classify one’s core tendencies and operational patterns in life,
based precisely on the structure surrounding the Month Branch.

That said,
I’m not here to dismiss those traditional systems.

Many who’ve studied them for years
do so with their own coherent logic and deep philosophical grounding.

However, instead of simply following those paths,
I choose to explore my own interpretations and frameworks
quietly, patiently, and persistently navigating the labyrinth of K-Bazi,
so as not to lose my way in this profound and intricate art.

Dong 02 En 1

When we take a brief look at Kim Dong-jun’s Saju (Four Pillars),
one of the most striking features is the presence of two Jeong-Gwan (正官, Direct Officer) in the Heavenly Stems.

This structure often represents a person who values principles, order, and moral reasoning.
Simply put, it suggests someone who clearly distinguishes between right and wrong
a classic “man of integrity.”

On top of that,
he also has Jeong-In (正印, Proper Seal) and Jeong-Jae (正財, Proper Wealth) well-positioned in his chart.
This points to a life lived with sincerity and discipline,
much like a scholar with a strong moral compass.

People like him often attract this old saying:

“The water is too clear.”

Crystal-clear water is certainly precious and beautiful,
but as the proverb goes—
if the water is too clear, no fish will live in it.

In other words,
while clarity and purity are admirable,
a touch of flexibility and imperfection is sometimes needed
to navigate the complexities of life.

Dong 1

Kim Dong-jun’s Saju reveals a strong presence of upright and noble energies—
Jeong-Gwan (正官, Direct Officer), Jeong-In (正印, Proper Seal), and Jeong-Jae (正財, Proper Wealth).

On the other hand,
his Jae-Seong (財, Wealth energy)—which represents flexibility and practical engagement with the world—
is relatively weak.

This contrast sometimes leads to moments of friction with the world
or a sense of isolation from others.

Indeed, his current luck cycle suggests that he may be going through a rather challenging period.

At the moment, he is in a Pyeon-Gwan (偏官, Seven Killings) decade,
and in recent years, the energies of Jeong-Gwan (正官), Pyeon-Gwan (偏官), and In-Seong (印星, Seal)
have all been strongly activated.

This combination often brings mental pressure, external expectations, and social stress.

And yet—
if he can endure and grow through this phase,
there is a strong possibility that he will emerge with a deeper, more resilient spirit,
and evolve into an even more mature and respected actor.

His current clarity and integrity will one day
flow naturally into broader, calmer waters
forming a new current that carries him forward.

Even now, Kim Dong-jun is already admirable and deserving of respect.

It may be a tough time,
but this too shall pass.

I sincerely wish him strength and light.
Fighting! 🙌
