There’s an old saying in Korea: “When your stomach is full and your back is warm, life is at its best.”
But what if you were cut off from the modern world for a week, with nothing but those conditions? Would you truly be happy?
Happiness can be divided into two main types:
The first is physical happiness, and the second, a step beyond, is spiritual happiness.
This concept is similar to Maslow’s hierarchy of needs in Western psychology.
At the stage of self-actualization, Maslow speaks of seeking spiritual fulfillment and meaning in life.
The problem is that there’s no clear method to reach this stage.
As a result, many people remain stuck in theory, never finding the “how.”
This is why practices like Zen meditation and Buddhist training are popular in the West—people who have achieved physical happiness seek to fill the next gap: spiritual satisfaction and meaning.

K-Bazi and the Conditions for Happiness
Heunhan Dosa (http://hunandosha.com) sees K-Bazi as, at its core, a study dedicated to exploring human happiness.
However, the current theories of Myungrihak (Korean Four Pillars) have become extremely complex and difficult, creating a high barrier for the general public to approach.
As a result, the very “human” element seems to have disappeared, leaving behind only technical terms such as Shinsal, Gyeokguk, and Yongshin.
However, as I mentioned in the Lee Min-ho segment…
- Men need Water (水)
- Women need Fire (火)
Men feel happiness when Water is in balance, women when Fire is in balance.
But here, “happiness” refers only to physical balance—not spiritual happiness.
When good luck passes, many people falter or struggle.
Humans are beings who constantly yearn, pursue, and strive toward their goals.

Who is Ahn Hyo-seop?
Ahn Hyo-seop was born in Seoul in 1995 as the youngest of three siblings.
When he was seven, his family immigrated to Toronto, Canada, where he grew up.
After graduating from middle school in Toronto with high grades, he returned to Korea to attend Cheongdam High School and later entered Kookmin University’s International Business Department.
Growing up in Canada, he naturally became fluent in English and developed broad perspectives and cultural sensitivity through overseas life.
After returning to Korea, he spent about three years as a trainee at JYP Entertainment, even living in a dorm with GOT7 members.
However, the stress of pursuing singing and dancing as a career grew over time.
Deciding to keep music as a hobby, he eventually chose the path of acting.
Now, let’s take a closer look at Ahn Hyo-seop’s K-Bazi to uncover what kind of fate has allowed him to gain such immense popularity both in Korea and abroad—and where that secret lies.

Ahn Hyo-seop’s K-Bazi – Mu-In (戊寅) Day Pillar and the Flow of Luck
Ahn Hyo-seop was born under the Mu-In (戊寅) Day Pillar, with his K-Bazi flow dominated by strong Wood (木) energy.
Although there is Metal (金) energy in the Heavenly Stems, it is suppressed by the overwhelming strength of Wood.
As a result, the Water (水) energy—represented by Pyeonjae (偏財, Indirect Wealth) in the form of Hae-Su (亥水)—is also drawn into supporting the Wood rather than fulfilling its own role.

Strong Wood gives him a soft and approachable image, but the Fire (火) energy—functioning here as Inseong (印星, Resource Star)—does not appear outwardly in the Heavenly Stems.
For an actor, Fire is crucial for charisma, expression, and presence, so its absence makes his chart less favorable for growth in the entertainment industry.
Therefore, for him to succeed, the Water needed for a man and the Fire needed for an actor must appear in his luck cycles.
As mentioned earlier, this form of success reflects physical happiness rather than inner fulfillment.
However, since society often focuses on what is visible, we will now examine his flow of luck through this structure.

Ahn Hyo-seop – Entering JYP as a Trainee During the Mu-In Luck Cycle
In 2011, while in his first year of high school, Ahn Hyo-seop joined JYP Entertainment as a trainee.
At the time, his K-Bazi was in the Mu-In (戊寅) Luck Cycle, with hidden Fire (火) energy inside the In-Mok (寅木) subtly pushing him toward new challenges and changes.

How he became an idol trainee is not publicly known.
However, from a K-Bazi perspective, the Pyeonjae (偏財) Hae-Su (亥水) in his Year Branch often symbolizes the financial support or backing of grandparents or family.
Becoming an idol trainee is not something just anyone can do—it requires years of training, living expenses, and preparation costs.
Even if his parents were not wealthy, it is likely someone was there to back and support him.

First Debut and Rise to Leading Roles
In 2015, he finally took his first step.
He debuted in MBC’s “Splash Splash LOVE” as Park Yeon.
He was still within the Mu-In Luck Cycle, but the hidden Fire within In-Mok began to shine—much like taking the first breath after surfacing from underwater.

By 2017, things changed dramatically.
That year, Fire appeared directly in the Heavenly Stems—and for an actor, Fire is like stage lighting.
He starred in his first lead role in “Three Color Fantasy – Queen of the Ring” and played a major role in “My Father is Strange”, leaving a lasting impression on viewers.
That same year, he won the Asia Artist Awards Best New Actor, solidifying his position as an actor.

2018–2025: Ahn Hyo-seop’s Career and the Flow of Luck
In 2018, Fire (火) appeared in the Heavenly Stems, supported by Chuk-To (丑土) in the Earthly Branches.
That year, Ahn Hyo-seop starred in SBS’s “Still 17” and won the SBS Drama Awards Best New Actor.

From 2019 onward, Water (水) energy continued to flow steadily.
That year, he expanded his range by starring in tvN’s romantic comedy–fantasy “Abyss.”

In 2020, he appeared in the hit SBS drama “Dr. Romantic 2”, further solidifying his popularity and acting credentials.
This role earned him the 56th Baeksang Arts Awards TV Best New Actor.

In 2021, he led SBS’s “Lovers of the Red Sky”, winning the SBS Drama Awards Excellence Award (Fantasy/Drama) and the Best Couple Award.

In 2022, he gained explosive popularity with SBS’s “Business Proposal.”
I personally first came to know him through this drama and found it very enjoyable.

In 2023, he returned for a major role in “Dr. Romantic 3.”
In 2024, there were no significant records of activity—a year of taking a breather in both career and luck.

Then in 2025, he took on new challenges:
He voiced a role in the animated musical film “KPop Demon Hunters” and delivered an impressive live-action performance as Kim Dok-ja in “Omniscient Reader’s Viewpoint.”

Luck Flow and Future Considerations
The good news is that Ahn Hyo-seop’s major luck cycles will continue to bring Fire and Water support.
However, in years when these elements are absent, self-management will be critical.
A single mistake in such a year could make it extremely difficult to recover, no matter how good the overall luck is.
His K-Bazi shows the capacity for a large vessel, enabling his current dynamic career.
But in the eyes of many lesser-known entertainers, he could easily become a target of envy.
Thus, every word and action must be handled with care to survive in the jungle-like entertainment industry.

💡 Tip:
- Years with strong Fire/Water → pursue challenges and expansion
- Years without these elements → focus on recharging and image management
Balancing his rhythm this way can ensure not only momentary fame but also long-term staying power as an actor.
